Research in Motion Blackberry Wireless devices allow Flight Options to streamline communication process CLEVELAND (April 13, 2004) – Each of the nearly 1,000 Flight Options pilots are now equipped with Research In Motion (RIM) Blackberry Wireless Devices. By implementing the use of this technology, Flight Options is able to provide enhanced communication between their crewmembers and the company’s operations team. “With the development of the Wireless Operations Gateway (WOG), crewmembers now have real time access to their current flight schedule, aircraft maintenance information and travel arrangements,” said David Davies, chief information officer, Flight Options, LLC. “WOG will enable us to streamline our current processes within our Operations Control Center, as well as provide better communications with our crews, which translates into a higher level of service to our owners.” Flight crews are able to transmit information regarding their flight status and trip details instantaneously to the Operations Control Center. This data allows Flight Options’ operations team to update scheduling information and to ensure service levels are being achieved. “Flight Options is dedicated to implementing the latest technology in order to ensure the highest levels of safety and service to our owners,” added Michael Scheeringa, chief operating officer, Flight Options, LLC. “We are committed to the continued growth of our company and our excellent service is the foundation for this success.” |
